Turksat (TSAT)

Turksat Satellite Communication, Cable TV and Operations INC. Türksat GREENDC activities consist of the collaborative operations of three interrelated units that are in charge of E-Government and Knowledge Society (EG) operations that work on software development and function as a front office for e-government services; Data Center (DC) operations that manage the ICT infrastructure for e-government service and other ICT service provision; and Facility Administration (FA) operations that are in charge of energy management in the TSAT campus facilities.

• Murat ÇOLAK currently works in TSAT, as the Director in charge of E-Government and Knowledge Society as well as R&D operations. He worked as System Architect and Software developer for the Turkish e-Government Gateway project. He gratuated from Computer Engineering Department, Ege University in 2006.
• Sami YENİCE graduated from Computer Engineering Department, Cankaya University in 2005. He currently works as a specialist in TSAT. During the last 6 years, he worked as a software developer, integration specialist and project manager in the Turkish e-Government Gateway project. His research interests are e-Government studies, e-Governance and mobile applications. He also participated in CEES (Citizen Oriented Evaluaiton of e-Government Systems), UbiPOL (Ubiquitous participation platform for Policy making) and GEN6 (Governments ENabled with IPv6) projects.
• Mehmet AKTAŞ has completed BSc in Computer Engineering from TOBB University of Economics and Technology in 2009 and MSc in Information Systems from Middle East Technical University in 2014. He currently works as software development specialist, advisor and lead developer in service development part of Turkish e-Government Gateway Mobile Application. At the same time, he has participated in STORK 2.0 (Secure Identity Across Borders Linked) Project.
• Tunc D. MEDENI, Ph.D., has been continuously working for TSAT for the last 8 years. His assumed positions and responsibilities include advisory role to Presidential Office and special expertise in Telecommunications, E-Government and ICT-related EU projects. He was awarded a PhD degree from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan; his MS degree from Lancaster University in the UK; and his BS degree from Bilkent University, Turkey. His interest areas are ICT-enabled services, knowledge management, cross-cultural learning, and e-government.

Türksat is the sole communications satellite operator in Turkey. TSAT’s field of activities may be divided into three main areas: Satellite Services, Cable Services, and ICT Services.

The duty of establishing, operating and managing e-Government Gateway has been assigned to TSAT under the coordination of the Ministry of Transportation.

Currently more than 20 milyon citizens benefit from more than 1000 services at the Gateway.
